The Neural Shift Agentic AI, Cross-Asset Dynamics, and the Regulatory Black Box in Modern Finance
0 viewsAbstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transitioned from an experimental tool to the "central nervous system" of the global financial infrastructure. This study explores the emergence of agentic AI— autonomous systems capable of independent decision-making in high-stakes environments such as credit approval and fraud detection. By utilizing Python-based analytical frameworks to examine historical data, the research highlights AI’s efficacy in identifying complex correlations between traditional assets like gold and volatile digital assets like Bitcoin. However, the findings reveal a stark paradox: while AI enhances operational speed and market insights, it simultaneously facilitates sophisticated new fraud methodologies, with projected global losses expected to rise from $23 billion to $58 billion. Furthermore, despite aggressive investment, only 8% of major banks report a clear return on investment (ROI), largely due to the "black box" nature of AI decision-making. The research concludes that for AI to achieve sustainable integration, the industry must prioritize "explainable AI" (XAI) and develop robust regulatory frameworks that balance rapid innovation with transparency and consumer protection.
