Optimizing Business Intelligence & AI Decision Systems in Modern Enterprises: Automating Data Pipelines, Reducing Latency, and Enhancing Operational Reliability
0 viewsAbstract
Through this empirical study, I examine how we can modernize enterprise decision support systems by integrating automated business intelligence (BI) data pipelines with real-time artificial intelligence (AI) predictive analytics. Traditional enterprise analytics rely heavily on batch ETL processes, manual SQL aggregations, and retrospective reporting, which introduce computational latency and operational bottlenecks. I operated two BI environments in parallel over a three-month comparative case study within a medium-sized enterprise: a traditional batch-processed reporting system and an AI-automated data pipeline. I evaluated five performance metrics across 10,000 operational transactions: pipeline extraction latency, query execution speed, predictive anomaly detection accuracy, quarterly maintenance hours, and monthly operational cost. The empirical results demonstrate a 79% reduction in processing latency, a 76% drop in execution error rates, a 46% reduction in maintenance overhead, a 29% increase in anomaly detection accuracy, and a 39% reduction in monthly operational costs. These findings prove that real-time AI automation provides superior decision support efficiency, though initial infrastructure migration costs remain a consideration for enterprise adoption.
